AXIS Architecture has completed a comprehensive refurbishment of common areas within the NODO office building in Madrid.

IBA Capital Partners entrusted AXIS Architecture with creating a brand-new interior for this iconic 29,000 m² building close to Madrid-Barajas Airport.

This nine-month project focused on delivering outstanding functionality, connecting the two existing vertical cores on the ground floor to improve the flow of foot traffic. User experience has also been enhanced by numerous new open spaces within the common areas. In terms of aesthetics, natural materials and a mixture of textures and colours bring warmth to the space. The central atrium has become the building’s focal point and most prominent feature.

A second phase saw the transformation of the façade. Here, AXIS was involved in both the design and on-site supervision. We were also tasked with upgrading the underground car park.
