AXIS Arquitectura completes the renovation of two 3,500 m² buildings on Mateo Inurria Street in Madrid, in a strategic area currently undergoing consolidation as the new university epicenter of the city. . This intervention makes the building a point of reference for students, teachers and visitors, thanks to its proximity to several educational institutions and its excellent connectivity.
The project, developed by Axis Arquitectura, maintains the combination of open spaces of great height in the common areas, with functional closed spaces that favor fluidity and natural light in the interiors. In addition, some existing noble cladding materials such as natural stone and granite have been preserved, which together with more modern and durable materials, provide a neutral aesthetic, but of great elegance.
The project reflects the need for contemporary functionality without losing the historic character, integrating current and flexible uses, collaborative work areas, study areas and meeting spaces that are adapted to university life.
