Antonio Maura 18

AXIS Arquitectura designed the conversion of a former gym in to a new office. The office comprises 183 sqm of useable space located on the ground floor of a period building in the capital.

When carrying out this conversion, we opted to use organic shaped partitioning to create a central feature, in order to accentuate the look and feel of the office. This breathes life into the space and creates a free flow of movement through it. Work areas are set out on both sides in a trio of desks adjacent to the façade, whilst the opposite end of the floor hosts a more independent open-plan space intended for an office and meeting room.

The central space houses the service areas: reception, office, rest area, copy room and an additional workstation, with a separate module for WCs at the back.

We also opted to retain the 3.70m ceiling height, leaving all installations exposed and reinforcing the feeling of comfort with low hanging lighting units over workstations.
